A calm, light-filled room with someone moving through it.

What happened to affordable homes?

Somewhere close to work. Room for a growing family. A home within reach of your budget. This shouldn’t be too much to ask.

Housing was not supposed to be this complicated.

Life doesn’t wait.

Waiting for a permit. A quote. Someone to call back. Moving day slips away, but the rent keeps coming and plans stay on hold.

We wanted a home. Not a life on hold.

And room to live?

Saving for a deposit is hard enough. Then come the unexpected costs, the bills and the worry of making ends meet. A home should leave room for the life inside it.

This is where Alma begins.

What happens when we bring the three together?

Hemp: the woody core of the stem.
Lime: the mineral binder.
Water: starts the bond.
Together they form a mix that sets.
The mix becomes a wall, with Canhawall.
The walls make the home, with Alma Houses.

It can absorb and release moisture, helping moderate indoor fluctuations. It does not replace ventilation.

From outside, it looks like any wall. Inside, it has four layers.
